Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama said some Nigerians in Libya have refused to return home despite the current difficulties in the country's slave trade market.
Onyeama said this in an interview to journalists after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council that took place yesterday, December 6. He said the federal government is currently in talks with the Nigerian Chargé d'affaires in Libya to determine the number of Nigerians held in detention centers in Libya to speed up the measures to return them to their homes. He said the officers' information shows that some Nigerians do not want to go home. "Business leaders have said that a number of Nigerians, not all of them, do not want to go home, and there must be only those who want to come home."
